Liesl fell in love with songwriting when she first picked up a guitar in 2007. The first song she wrote when she was sixteen; “I love you, I let you down” was performed by one of her school friends at their school’s talent show - her friend won the talent show.
Liesl wrote a song: “The Defining Moment” while she was acting in the short film with the same title. When the Director of the short film heard the song, he decided that he wanted it to be the official song of the film. Liesl went on to do her first live performance, performing the song at the film Premiere.
Liesl was asked to be the official songwriter for the South African musical television series “DREAMS.”
Liesl was asked to write an emotional “theme” song for the Drama short film “Every Breath.”
